I’m Board
I just scanned the latest copy of Silent Sports magazine. It’s interesting. They’re returning to their roots and I like that. The current mag is almost 90% Birkie, I suppose that’s as it should be since it’s February. What struck me is how many people in Hayward are involved in the race and the trail. Wow!
Now I’ve set aside dreams of turning our area into a Hayward in February; but there are some things we can do. Montreal Trails needs a group of interested people to sit down at least once a year and think about what went on this year and what should go on next year and the next 5 years. We need a Board of Directors.
We’ve got some creative people out there who ski the trail. I’ve seen them. We’ve got some skiers who are pretty good with their hands and are willing to work. I’m one of them - and met a few others. But where we’re at now is like trying to run a big farm with a family that has two kids, one of whom is an attorney and the other is working a full load designing things for other people all week. We need some new ideas and energy seriously involved in thinking ahead for the future; the near future and the far.
I know, another kommittee meeting. Everybody is stretched pretty thin up here with their commitments. But once a year? We’re all experts on Zoom now, we could pipe-dream in the comfort of our own homes. We need fresh ideas, and a little more momentum for some of the old ideas. Think about it. Let us know on info@penokeerangers.com if you’d like to help out that way.
