Fellow Travelers

Remember, there are others out there.

There are other ski clubs working, cutting brush, draining water, packing snow, grooming corduroy, setting tracks, and not gaining a profit. There are others who just know that supporting those types of organizations and knowing their needs is the thing to do. They understand that it's good, fundamentally good for people to get outside, into the woods and away from the noise, hustle and business of today's everyday life. The Gogebic Range Health Foundation is one of those organizations. The Foundation is local. It's mission is to help outfits like the Rangers get the things they need and do the work that needs to be done so that people have a place to get away from that which wears us down.

The Foundation gave the Rangers a significant amount of money to do basic, badly needed trail work on Montreal and Uller this year. We did extra grooming and spent some big time on signs this season with the support they gave us. There are big plans for this summer: installing some badly needed culverts, moving some dirt, probably ending up constructing some board-walk or low bridges and marking the trails a little better. All that work is possible because the Gogebic Range Health Foundation supported our mission and granted the funding.

The Foundation is in the middle of their annual fundraising effort for this year. They were there when we needed them. If you can, be there for them. They are working on a different level; but doing the same things the Rangers have been trying to do.

We hope you can support their mission.
